¹⁶ Then they summoned all the elders of the town, and all the young men and women also hurried to the assembly. They had Achior stand in the midst of all the people, and Uzziah interrogated him about what had happened. ¹⁷ In reply he told them what had taken place at the council of Holofernes, what he himself had said in the presence of the Assyrian leaders, and all that Holofernes had boasted he would do to the house of Israel.
